3d Scanning

The university recently purchased an Artec Space Spider 3D scanner. Using Artec Studio 15 software, we have made available 182 specimen 3D models on our Viewshape platform for use in classrooms. Specimens scanned include natural history, anthropological and archaeological specimens.

The 3D scanner is currently housed in Professor Katherine Brunson's Environmental Archaeology Lab. Objects are beginning to get printed in the IDEAS lab. In the coming year, we anticipate many further interdisciplinary, campus-wide collaborations.
